What characteristics do you think natural leaders have?

A leader is a person, for which other collective members recognize the taking right on the most responsible decisions. The leader-role is to lead people behind him, ensuring the existence of connections between people in the system that contributed to the solution of specific tasks within the single goal's framework.

    The phenomenon of leadership in society is quite a complex one, which appeared long before its scientific explanation. Most often, leadership emerges spontaneously within the team, relying on the personal qualities and the competence of the leader, as well as personal attachments and sympathies of others.

    The main functions of the leader are influencing interpersonal relations in the group, organising and referring others to a common goal, motivating the group with personal authority, exercising the powers of official or informal power within the social group. The following are qualities required by a leader:

- the presence of an active need to control people's actions, managing them;

- high social activity, expressed in the ability to easily come into contact with people, using the most beneficial forms of communication;

- a sufficiently high level of intelligence and knowledge, coupled with the ability to apply them in difficult situations;

- the ability to take responsibility for one's actions and the actions of the entire group;

- the ability to delegate one's authority;

- the ability to process the main streams of psychological information;

- rapid reaction to changing behaviour norms;

- confidence in oneself, perseverance and initiative.

    Similarly, the leader is characterised by certain features of thinking: flexibility that ensures greater adaptability to changing circumstances, productivity, reflecting the leader's ability to generate new ideas, rapid thinking to make quick decisions justified by reality, and the propensity to analyse the situation as a whole.

    Considering the specifics of leadership as a certain role, it is worth noting that the leader is not only given this role, but he takes it himself, trying to realise his potential. Not just any person can take the position of leader, but one whose readiness for action matches the situation.
