What characteristics do you think natural leaders have?

Once everyone thinks what characteristic a natural leader should have. There are many qualities and characteristics, but some of them are inborn and some of them person can acquire.

On the one hand, inborn characteristics, which can’t be acquired, for instance, volitional qualities: being logical, rational and analytical, self confidence, diligence and so on. It is important not to be too emotional, to be strict and decisive, if you want to be a good leader and to be successful in what you do. You should have cold mind to make right decisions, to leave your emotions aside. You should be confident on your own decisions. Be able to make plans and then to fulfill them. Inborn qualities don’t make you a good leader, they can just help you.

On the other hand, acquired qualities, which play integral role of being a good leader, for example, competence, communicational and organizational skills, persuasiveness and many others. Person can’t be born a good leader. He or she should develop and improve some characteristics even if they are inborn. First of all, a natural leader should be able to motivate, inspire and lead people. It means to have good communication skills, to be empathic and be able to put yourself on others place or situation. Opposite characteristic is being authoritative: able to give orders. Then person should be competent. A leader should know his job perfectly, as well as the work of his subordinates. A natural leader can quickly make decisions and organized effective work. He or she knows how to assign responsibilities and able to responsible for the subordinates. All these qualities can be acquired.

To sum everything up, you can’t be born a good leader. You should work hard to become it. I absolutely agree with the proverb “No sweet without some sweat”. Even if you have many inborn qualities you should develop and improve new ones. Everything is in your hands.
